Patrick H. O’Brien (Pat), partner and co-founder of O’Brien, Riley, & Ryan P.C., has been in the practice of public accounting for almost thirty years.
He provides quality audit, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base, and is well versed in financial statement auditing, review and compilation, tax planning and preparation, accounting and management reporting needs.
Professional Background
Pat works closely with the management of small- and mid-sized companies and not-for-profit organizations analyzing their operations, formulating short- and long-range business plans, and implementing necessary steps to help increase their opportunities for success.
He has developed service-niche knowledge in valuation services for closely-held businesses. His experience in business valuation provides clients a solid foundation in which to address their need to purchase insurance to fund buy/sell agreements or disability insurance, as well assist with determining asset values for disputes and estate planning.
Pat’s financial planning experience, combined with his tax training, allows him to provide a complete financial perspective to clients from investment strategies all the way through the post-tax impact on their decisions.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College and a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley College. Pat has earned designations of a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Person Financial Specialist.
